Where can I buy a ticket for the tour?
You can purchase tickets on the website, by phone 1-833-RIDEHOP, or at any our Hopper™ stops or offices.
What is the difference between Hopper™ & Hopper Plus™ packages?
Both tour packages include all day hop on & off transportation. However, the Hopper Plus™ package also includes admission to local attractions along the route.
After purchasing can I change my package type?
Before boarding a bus guests will be able to upgrade from our Hopper™ transportation only package to the Hopper Plus™ package which includes admission to attractions along the route. However, there are no exchanges with refunds allowed from the Hopper Plus™ package to Hopper™.
What time do tours start and how often do buses run?
Buses run from 9am – 6pm and guests can hop on & off at each stop. During operation hours buses will be at each Hopper™ stop every 30 – 60 minutes.
What is a Tour Concierge?
Our onboard Tour Concierge will be available to help you while you are on the bus, they will be providing you with entertaining and informative commentary as well as giving advice and answering any questions you might have.
Is the tour narrated in other languages?
At this time our tour will only be narrated in English.
Where can I start the tour?
You may start your tour at any of our 6 hop on & off bus stops. Please reference our schedule here for our timetable.
How long does the tour take?
If you elect to remain aboard the bus for a full circuit, each tour lasts approximately 2 hours.
Is there parking available?
Yes, we will have parking available at The Hopper™ Old Town Ticket Center – 2725 Congress Street, San Diego CA, 92110.
Is there WiFi available on the bus?
There is 4G WiFi available on the bus. Please connect to the “mobile WiFi” network, in order to use The Hopper™ free WiFi.
What can I see and visit?
During your tour you can hop on & off at any of our 6 stops: Old Town, Embarcadero, Seaport Village, Gaslamp, Balboa Park & Little Italy. These 6 conveniently located stops were selected because they provide access to a place of interest or attraction. If you have purchased the Hopper Plus™ package your hop on & off tour will include access to the following attractions: Midway Museum, 1-hour Harbor Cruise, Maritime Museum, Petco Park tour & Coronado Ferry.
On which days does the tour operate?
The Hopper™ bus will operate every day of the year, unless otherwise stated.
How do I redeem my ticket confirmation?
Following your transaction, you will receive a confirmation email. Please print or save your ticket confirmation on your phone. You will present it to a member of The Hopper™ staff at one of our hop on & off stops or offices before you start your tour and receive a stylish Hopper™ bracelet that allows you access to the buses & access to included attractions if you have purchased the Hopper Plus™ package.
Do I need to specify a date of travel?
Yes, your ticket will be purchased for a specific day. However, if you call in advance we can update your reservation to a date in the future.
Is there a discount available for groups?
For information on group discounts please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. You must have a group of 10 or more guests.
Is there a discount for veterans or students?
No, there is only a discount for children, active military & seniors over 62 years of age.
How will I know where to get off?
Our Tour concierge and bus drivers will communicate what stops are coming up and what activities can be done at them.
What is the child ticketing policy?
A child ticket is available for children between 4 and 12 years old. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Children 3 years and under may travel free of charge on an adults lap. Strollers must be folded and stowed on the lower deck of the bus.
Are accommodations available for persons with disabilities?
Yes, we operate wheelchair accessible vehicles with ramps that can accommodate a weight up to 400 pounds. If anyone in your traveling party requires an ADA accessibility, please contact us 48 hours prior to your planned tour commencement. We can prepare the ramp for you at the time and location required. Please also note that guests with mobility impairments may not be able to access the upper deck on our buses. We cannot guarantee the accessibility of the various attractions along the tour.
What is the policy on bringing pets?
No pets are allowed on board the bus, except certified ADA service animals.
What is the food and drink policy?
We will have snacks and drinks available on board for purchase. No outside food or beverage will be allowed on the buses. Please be respectful and keep the bus clean for other guests. There are trash cans dispersed throughout the bus.
Is there a bathroom on board?
Yes, we do have a restroom available for your use. We want you to have the best experience possible so please let your Tour Concierge know if it does not meet your standard.
Are car seats required for children?
Car seats are not required on the bus. The buses are equipped with seatbelts.
Is there room or luggage, strollers, walkers, etc?
Yes, we have a compartment to hold items of this size. A Tour Concierge or bus driver will assist with housing these items.
Can I pick up my wristbands in advance?
Yes, wristbands can be picked up at any time once you’ve received your confirmation, but will only be activated the day of your tour. Wristbands are activated the first time you get on the bus and once activated will work for the entirety of that day only.
What if I lose my confirmation?
We can find your reservation by the name you purchased your ticket(s) with. Please bring picture ID that matches the reservation name.
Is it possible to hire one of the buses for a private event?
Yes, buses are available for private transportation. Please have a look at our Private Charter page to find out more, or contact us at email@example.com to discuss your requirements.
Can I drink alcohol on the bus?
Drinking is not permitted on the tour. Guests 21+ are permitted to drink on the bus if agreed upon before hand during a Private Charter.
